About the Author
I came up with the idea for this book while working as a composition tutor at UCLA. I graduated from there in 1993 with honors and a degree in English. I have an MA degree in English Lit. from the University of Colorado where I taught Freshman Composition, wrote lots of papers, and finished the manuscript that became this book. Colorado suits me, because I like to mountain bike in the summer and snowboard in the winter.

Only for the untalented

If you are a lousy writer, this book is for you. It offers a regimented view of how to write if you cannot keep yourself organized. Very programmatic. The author has a master's degree in English composition. Not a specialist. If you are an author who wants to write a book that 200 people read, then this book is for you.

Incredible help at all levels

This book is being used by a relative, who is a high school history teacher in Canada, as a basis for teaching students how to write essays, was used for a Graduation thesis at Bezerkley, is used by a grandchild in Arizona, who is in middle school, was used by 3 friends children through senior high and university. This is a tough book to find, but it a great and useful tool.

The best book on writing!

No student should enter high school or college without this book. While working on my doctorate, I realized I needed to up my writing game. I read a plethora of books on writing. This book alone completely reshaped my writing to help me become an excellent writer; a published one at that.
The information is clear, succinct, and illuminative. Posusta's style is easy to understand and applicable. I have recommended this book to students, fellow doctoral students, and parents who want to help their children become better writers.
Posusta's chapter on Seek and Destroy provides the best writing hints that any writer would benefit from. Truly a worthwhile purchase. I've purchased this book many times and have passed it on to several English teachers and relatives alike.
